We stayed for 2 nights in the wonderful hanging rock cottage and wished it could have been much longer. On arrival, flickering candles were set out in the cottage and a video of the Picnic at Hanging Rock film was playing - this coupled with the fact that the cottage is literally below the Hanging Rock made a very atmospheric entrance. A breakfast hamper is included in the price and is brought in each day with fresh local produce which you then prepare yourself. The cottage has a very large open plan lounge/dining/ well equipped kitchen area, separate double bedroom and a large veranda overlooking a garden and the rock on one side and fields across to the distant wooded Macedon hills on the other. Birds visited every day. It was a truly delightful spot and exceptional value for money. more
