We stayed at the Econo Lodge in Townsend, TN the 2nd week of August 2008.........on two SEPARATE occasions, the maid (housekeeping staff to be PC ) stole loose change from the top of the dresser !!! This motel is GREAT! The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and they have waffles. This is the only place that has breakfast included with your room. Nothing more to be said. Will always come back to this motel, and I will tell my friends. more

Stayed here 2 nights while doing biological research in the GSM national park. Pool was nice, wireless Internet worked great. The continental breakfast was the usual fare, nothing special. There is not much going on in Townsend, and it is a very nice, peaceful alternative to noisy, over-developed, and somewhat insane Gatlinburg. Very convenient to areas on the west side... more
