Booked by 1-800 number and arrived after dark. Receptionist, with cigarette on her lip, was very surly. Directed to second floor of separate block with outside access. Walkway from stairwell was blocked by 'long term resident smokers' sitting outside their 'non-smoker' rooms in chairs from the room with feet on the handrail. I have traveled in 48 countries and have stayed in first class and some not so nice facilities, and every thing in between. The Days Inn of Conroe, Texas is the worse dump in which I have ever stayed. We have been on the road for over a week and stayed in a different hotel every night. This was definitely the worst we have stayed at. It is filthy and poorly maintained. The bath was full of mold. Upon arriving at the hotel, I knew this was a BIG mistake and I was correct. I won't go into any type of detail with particulars of the hotel only to say, "DO NOT STAY HERE", if you have any other alternative. The photos and internet do not even begin to tell "the rest of the story". more

The room was clean. I knew this by the overpowering smell of bleach when I walked in. The bed was comfortable, but I slept on a sheet that I had brought to be safe.
