I grew up in Oak Cliff and I watched the Belmont transform from a run down hideout for homeless people to a great little retro spot. The area is Oak Cliff, however, so there are pockets of run down neighborhoods. It's not like driving through Uptown or Park Cities where you find a nice hotel surrounded by nice homes. Oak... More

This is not a boutique hotel, it is a retro motor inn / motel. There is a difference. I was really unimpressed by the housekeeping. Over the course of the six days that I stayed there the bathroom amenities were never replaced. I had to call the front desk on two occasions for more shampoo and conditioner. It's fine if... More

Dear JMT, Thank you for the feedback on your stay. Please rest assured that cleanliness and a fresh room are cornerstones of our hotel. The small gold tassel that was placed outside your door is our 'do not disturb' sign, and that is the reason housekeeping did not enter to refresh your room. I regret that we were unaware of... More

We've been going to the Bar Belmont for a couple of years now but had the chance to stay in the hotel for the first time recently. Basically this is a cool retro boutique-style motor inn just a few miles from downtown Dallas. The rooms are simply appointed with modern furnishings and interesting color schemes. If you want something plush... More

This beautiful 1940's motor court hotel is where I stay anytime I'm in Dallas. It's one of my all-time favorite hotels in the US. They've taken a classic old motor court hotel and completely renovated it. It is wonderful. Each room in the bungalow section of the motor court is roomy with a bed and bathroom and small flat screen.... More

My wife and I spent great weekend at this hotel while in town for the Cotton Bowl at Cowboys Stadium. We brought our little Boston Terrier and due to this we had to get a one of their upgraded Bungalow's. Which had a nice tile floor and was located outside the main hotel. We had no problems out there were... More

The property looks stellar from the outside with the white stucco walls and beautiful views of downtown. But if you're looking for the Dallas version of Austin's mod motor court, the Hotel San Jose, you'll be somewhat disappointed. This renovation lacks the same attention to detail that Liz Lambert took with the San Jose's. Instead of polished concrete floors and... More

I wanted to love the Belmont, but I simply did not. A friend and I spent a weekend there in October of 2011 and we were put off from the minute that we arrived by the cooler-than-thou attitude of the staff. Upon entering the lobby and approaching the desk for check-in, the clerk turned her back to us and began... More

Please allow me to offer our apologies for the sub-par experience you had at the Belmont. Warm and welcoming hospitality should go without saying, and I am sorry that we did not live up to our own standard. We appreciate every guest who chooses to stay with us, and thank you for alerting us to our lapse. If there is... More

It's not often you find a hand-written welcome note on a hotel bed, especially when the hotel is at 100% capacity and packed to the gills with two separate wedding parties. Of course, one could dismiss a little note if they didn't receive the top-notch service we experienced! The hotel sits atop a hill overlooking downtown Dallas and if you... More

What always bothers me about going to Dallas is that the majority of hotels are huge and without any personality. In those hotels you feel as though you could be anywhere, North, South, East or West. Belmont is the other side of the coin: an older, remodeled hotel with lots of Texas personality. Many of the rooms have excellent views... More

I just came back from a 4-night stay at the Belmont. The rooms are clean, the prices are affordable, and the decor is charming. But most importantly, everyone who works there is so nice, friendly and helpful. Much of downtown Dallas was sold out for a conference, and the team went way above the call of duty to help accomodate... More
