Hello! We decided to stay at Grandpappy Point because we wanted to try Lake Texoma for the weekend. It is one of the largest lakes in Oklahoma and we love boating, knee-boarding, wake-boarding, tubing,etc.
Grandpappy's is a really neat place, overall. The cabins are newly remodeled with tile flooring and new countertops. The one we stayed in was clean and very simple. We stayed in a duplex cabin with two bedrooms, which we shared with one other couple. We liked it alot--except for two main things. 1. There are no mirrors or nightstands in the bedroom. Just a bed. It would have been nice to know that beforehand. 2. Most of the cabins do not have their own thermostat--they work off a main system. They are preset to 74 degrees--which felt more like 68 degrees while we were there. My husband is a big guy who is almost always hot--and even he was often chilly. Bring an extra blanket or two at night.
