This hotel was apparently destroyed by the hurricane and simply repainted. I changed rooms 3 times before finding one that was barely adequate. All rooms stunk of mold and rot. Mold on the door jams and walls. Restrooms unclean and terribly worn. Air conditioning barely worked. Had to leave door open for awhile to air room out. Door security hardware... more

Worse motel i've ever stayed in. The room smelled musky, carpets look dirty.Changed room but it was the same. The smell is enough to leave your door open and let it air out....which we did . Refrigerator didn't work. If you do plan on staying here, bring your on coffee maker, hair dryer, iron or anything else you may need that... more

We went to Galveston on labor day weekend on a whim. We thought we were lucky to find a room since we had not reserved one, NOT! our room smelled like urine, had a dirty bathroom, had smashed cockroaches on the wall. 3 pillows for 2 beds, (asked for more they said they didn't have any more). we paid cash... more

Our family of 5 checked in and soon after we noticed that the lighting was not working right, we called the front desk and the receptionist said that there was not body there to fix it but that she was going to take care of it the next day... not big deal. That night when we were getting ready to... more

We found we were covered in bedbugs as wells as the sheets. The room was infested. Our luggage also became infested. We left the hotel... more

First off, book your room at Econo Lodge through www. Galveston.com. They offer you a much better rate than the actual website. I recently stayed there for 4 nights at $38.95 a night booked through Galveston.com! That was a great rate for a "spur of the moment" beach trip..Checking in, the young lady at the front desk let me look... more

The overall stay was pretty much what you'd expect from a hotel stay. On the up side, the rooms were soundproofed very well. The room always smelled nice and clean when we returned, and you can walk to the beach from there. On the down side, the carpet was so filthy that we couldn't walk on it without at least... more
