Our family spent two nights in a safari tent at Fossil Rim and we all had a blast. The tents are like very small hotel rooms made to look like rustic tents - they have showers, toilets, electricity, HVAC. Breakfast is served at the Pavilion which is just a short walk from the tents. There are animals all around the... More

I had no idea a place like this in the US existed! My family and I rented out the safari camp for the a weekend in June 2012 for my Aunt and Uncle's 25th anniversary. What a weekend to remember! I love how the camp is so close to the animals. There's nothing like sitting outside in a chair, sipping... More

Because we were traveling as a couple we opted to stay in the Lodge- the Peregrine Room on top floor. Though it was nice, couples and families will get more up close and personal with the animals by choosing the Safari Camp. The tents have private baths and HVAC. Many families with young children were there and all were having... More

My family's visit to Fossil Rim Safari Camp was the highlight of our vacation. We were traveling with two teens - 16 and 13, and this was a surprise activity for everyone but me. Driving to the camp is an adventure in itself. Once inside the gate, we were all amazed. Not only were there grazing antelope, but wild roadrunners,... More

This is one of the best weekend I have ever spent. We stayed at the Safari camp and was amazed at how great the accomodations were. It was 106 degrees that day but inside the tent was a nice 75 degrees. The camp was very clean and well kept. The pavillion was stocked with everything that you might need. Breakfast... More

What do you get for $125? A unique, memorable, and pleasurable stay. The service was excellent and the specially prepared food was good. We got lost on the way because I did not bring a map and tried to rely on my GPS. Thankfully Brandy (the chef) was on the phone saving us before we could panic. The tents have two... More

I chose this for a special anniversary get-away. My husband had not been there but we are both animal (critter) lovers. Sitting in front of our "tent" watching the animals come to the water hole was so enjoyable and peaceful. A perfect photo setup. The back side tour is a must. Billie, our docent, was so knowledgeable and gave us... More

We loved our visit to the Fossil Rim Safari Camp. There are 7 tents within the camp which sleep 2 people per tent. You have a bathroom, A/C & heat in the tent. The tents are situated near a Safari Lodge where the staff will cook breakfast and dinner. We had such a fun time. It's a unique place to... More

We enjoyed our weekend at the Fossil Rim Safari Camp in Glen Rose, Texas. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway which includes animal interaction & education, this is the place for you. **Highly recommended for children who want to learn about animals in the wild** Safari Camp: The camp includes a handful of "tents" which have concrete slab...
