Our recent stay was average. Great on the inside of the home, but no complimentary snacks or drinks as stated on the website. We visit B&B's often and had never been to one that didn't have at least bottled water. The outside is lacking. I don't think the Spring Clean outside had been done yet. The website shows 2 rocking... More

Absolutley fantastic. The photos do not do it justice as the charm of the Rock House was beyond our expectations. Everything was perfect and it made our visit to Hico a special treat. We had a family reunion and the outdoor seating really came in handy. Plenty of parking and the grounds are serene.

An absolute labor of love. It has been beautifully restored. The bed was fabulous, the home clean, cozy, and quiet, and the decor couldn't have been selected more perfectly to compliment such a treasure. This home is perfect for couples, families, and blended families or a small group of friends. What a great girls' weekend getaway it would be! The... More

This is a perfect place to stay in Hico, Texas. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are at home. The king size bed was so comfy it was very difficult to get going. My wife and I did not want to leave. The property is so beautiful and the huge trees makes it even more beautiful!... More

This is a truly charming bed and breakfast that takes you back to a simpler time. The house itself is probably 100 years old and is remarkably restored and beautifully decorated. It was very clean and had all the comforts of home . The beds are very comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have the whole house to ourselves and... More

This is a perfect place for our very busy city living family to get away too. It is close to the DFW area, nestled in the charming town of Hico, close to many family friendly attractions, and has the best beds. Our family has started spending one week here a year and we hope to keep it up for many... More

I was looking for a place to "get away" from the grind of daily life. Finding The Old Rock House was a very unexpected surprise! First, the owner, Leda, went out of her way to make sure we could stay in the house with a very "last minute" reservation! As we drove into the property, we were taken back by... More

Charming house and charming community! A perfect get-away for my husband's birthday. We enjoyed going to the Koffee Kup for breakfast--very easy to do. Close enough to enjoy other attractions like Dinasaur Valley and the Creation Evidence Museum, as well as wineries. Be sure to get a tour of Wiseman House Chocolates. Take advantage of the grill outside (charcoal under... More

My daughter and I were looking for an overnight 'retreat' we could enjoy with my two year old granddaughter. We headed down to Hico via Hwy 371 stopping to shop at the Bluff Dale Winery and Veldhuizen Cheese Store and Farm. Once in Hico we visited a local choclatier and gourmet popcorn shop. Armed with our Texas-made cuisine we headed... More

The Old Rock House Bed and Breakfast is in a great location. Two hours from Dallas and a stones throw away for various small towns full of great shopping and scenic views. The house itself is directly off the highway but, perfectly hidden. The minute you crack open the front door and step inside the thick walls onto the old... More
