We took a midweek getaway and stayed on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in December of 2007. The evening staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However the day staff were curt and snobby to a pair of twenty-somethings like us. There is a coffee shop in the lobby that was rarely open in the morning, even during the so-called open hours... more

My wife wanted to travel before giving birth and decided to go to Horseshoe Bay around Dallas and La Cantera resort in Austin. We loved both places. Horseshoe bay has a lot of activities and the pool there is awesome. Tons of activities for kids, rooms are nice and I wouldn't mind going back to the resort. more

The Marriott was nice but it wasn't the massive, awesome resort that I was expecting. We took our 2 year old on his first hotel stay here and it went well for what we wanted out of the trip. The kiddy pool area was nice, just really small. The main hotel pool was very small, as well. We stayed in... more

We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo in the Waters. It was beautifully decorated and the views were great. We spent a lot of time at the Yacht Club pool. There were lots of acitvities for the kids. Some were good, some were disappointing. I'd definitely go back. We are even considering going back for a girls spa trip. more

Main hotel is very nice. Hotel pool is great. First booked room in one of the 'Paseos'. Had to change from that to the main hotel - honestly my wife and I thought of it as a furnished corporate apartment. Not very luxurious at all. Everything is spread out - Yatch club is 1/2 mile. Slippery Rock is 3-4 miles,... more

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at Horseshoe Bay Resort. We’re sorry to hear that your dining experience was not up to the standards of which we are so proud. I have addressed the issue with the service at both the hotel restaurant and the Yacht Club. In both instances, you received service that unfortunately,...

Our third trip to HB in last 2 months. First stay was in Waters, 2nd stay in hotel and this last stay we were in the Paseo. September is definitely better, alot less little kids and people in general. We played the whitewater course and it was awesome, so dont miss playing that even if you are not a golfer... more

My sister and I traveled to this hotel with her young 4 month old baby. We were meeting extended family for a family event. From the moment we arrived we encountered friendly staff that met our needs. We have stayed at many resort type hotels but never encountered staff as friendly. A few examples of above average service. 1. The... more

We've stayed at many nicer resorts for lower prices. At $255 per night for the very basic room, I expected much more in the way of service at the hotel. For this price, I think we would have done better at the Hyatt Hill Country. Here are some of the good points about the resort: 1) Service in the valet/bellman... more

Had a meeting at this property and took my family with college age children. Do not play golf. Pools were full of children and not enjoyable because of it - lots of ball throwing and rowdiness. Pool staff and waiters seemed confused and new. Meeting rooms were fine, food was very good in restaurant, staff in the hotel was very... more

This is a great resort with many, many activities for everyone in the family. I thought the restaurant was overpriced and the resort pools were a little crowded. I also thought the boat rentals were out of control high. The rates were $200/hr and required a driver...what a downer. The LBJ marina down the road was much more affordable and... more
