These folks are trying very hard - but the location (behind the Salvation Army Thrift store) is not helping. That said, they make up for it in friendliness, cleanliness, and quiet.
Room is large with every amenity of a big scale hotel - except the mounted magnifying mirror which is absent. Every other aspect is standard upscale holiday inn, including the Speakman showerhead. They are going to have ongoing problems with mold because the building and room AC units are old and condensation is a problem. Everything is freshly painted, but the walls have old stains that are already starting to seep through. BUT, I can walk barefoot through the room and my feet stay clean. That's a big plus.
Breakfast is Holiday Inn standard, and there is a small, pretty pool out back that I've just had a dip in (Houston is HOT). They had a manager's reception last night with enough food for dinner, and the check in clerk chased me down after I went out last night because I didn't...
