I was in Houston for 3 nights attending a conference. I searched trip advisor thoroughly trying to find a nice hotel where I would feel comfortable, as I am very, very picky about my hotel accommodations. I either try to find a hotel in a city that is new (within 12 months of opening) or is 4-5*. I found this Laquinta which was newly opened and it did not disappoint. The room was very modern and new. The furnishings and interior decorations were beautiful. Usually, if I am unsure of a location I purchase my own set of bedding once I arrive in the city to ensure that I am comfortable. At this location, there was no need to bother. I was quite comfortable with the sheets and comforter that were on the bed - they appeared brand new.
