Form the outside it's just another large US downtown hotel. Reception is spacious but queueing system to check in is a bit disorganised which is annoying after flying for 10 hours to get there. The room I had was decidedly shabby, many of the fixtures and fittings, particularly the bathroom, had seen better days. Moreover (and this seems to be... more

We were in town for a Rockets game and this hotel is across the street from the Toyota Center. Considering you have to pay for parking anyway, if you are a visitor to Houston for any event in the Toyota Center, this is the place to stay. Check in was not bad eventhough I arrived at a busy time. I... more

The Hilton Americas is a nice enough property and as it relates to other hotels in general, it gets 3 stars but if I rated it against other Hiltons, I would have only given 2 stars. The property was clean but it also seemed very cold and uninviting. Self park is a very dark and deserted garage and I definitely... more

We like Hilton Hotels, we liked this hotel, and didn't experience most of the criticisms by other reviewers, although prices were high as stated. What we did think was disappointing was the fact that sitting at the bar on a Saturday night, we observed that just inside the front door, various groups of people came and went who were not... more

This hotel is great if you are using the attached exhibition venue..... other than that its far from the city maybe a $20 taxi fare....... there are a few shops in the local area..... and the hotel shuttle will take you within a 5 mile radius. The staff are friendly but it goes very little further..... more

I have stayed at this hotel with my husband and my 3-year old for 5 nights from May 12 - May 17. Overall, the hotel is fine, however, there are some annoying issues that prevent this hotel from being great. First, the PROs: 1. The hotel is is in a good location, right across from a nice park with some... more

Pros 1. Lots of food choices onsite, although most are expensive 2. Gym facilities and pool area are stellar 3. Good location for visiting downtown Houston 4. Lots of parking options 5. Lobby is beautiful Cons 1. The beds were pathetic - very uncomfortable and looked slightly larger than twin-sized 2. The Starbucks onsite is overpriced ($5 coffee) and staffed... more

We booked it for $99 on a discount online hotels site. That should have been our first red flag, but hey, with all the Priceline commercials, that rate isn't unheard of! We were really worried when the clerk said we were booked on a "converted" floor (converted from smoking to non-smoking, that is)..."But you shouldn't notice." I don't know how... more

I stayed here for the weekend to visit family in the area. I booked the executive level floor for $155/night (pretty good deal for Houston). Nice breakfast and apps. every evening, and it's a good-sized lounge. Hotel was built about 6 years ago, so everything is relatively new. Tasteful decor, flat screen TV, clean modern bathroom. Excellent steak house-Spencer's! I... more

Bathroom facilities: you can hear the water plumbing from other people's bathrooms. The water pipes make a very loud noise when switched on. Towels are rough. Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries are nice. Room facilites:Duvet cover is two sheets placed on top and under, very un-hygienic because the duvet becomes easily undone and then all stains visible. Bed very comfortable. TV... more
