This hostel is in a fine old house between the Museum District and downtown Houston. We enjoyed a private room in the old carriage house, and breakfast with a variety of world travelers. Beautiful grounds, swimming pool, gazebo, hammock. And a charming hostess. Plus the use of several large rooms on the main floor. All for $75 a night. Why... More

A beautiful place with an outdoor swimming pool, hammock, biscuits, nutella, peanut butter and jelly. Everything is clean and comfortable, locked rooms, private or shared. I stayed here for a business trip. I love the company a hostel has to offer, since I travel alone. The staff is extremely firendly. Houston hotel taxes are extremely high at around 17% More

Having visited multiple times for work, I have been in different rooms every time, from the townhouses to the pool house to the main building, and I can honestly say they are all very high standard. The owners are very polite and considerate and gave me advice on where to eat, rent cars, visit etc. I usually stay for 2... More

This property is being renovated for use as a hostel in the Hostelling International network, and will continue to have private rooms with ensuite bathroom available, and will serve a continental breakfast. Scheduled re-opening is late August. hiusa.org/newhoustonhostel for details. I am an uncompensated volunteer with the local HI group. More

This is a beautiful, 1920's home that has been made into a nice Bed and Breakfast. Here's my thoughts: the good - very quiet, great location within walking distance to many great restaurants, right in the middle of the wonderfully gay Montrose district, great dog greets you in the lobby, room was clean and furnished with period pieces and antiques,... We stayed in the townhouse apartment around the corner from the main house; it had a badly stained carpet, no towels or paper towels in the kitchenette; the heater in the Jacuzzi by the pool did not work so we could not use it as the night was cool. The breakfast was adequate, the manager courteous, but for the price,... More

Beautiful b&b French Colony style, in a great location. Lots of restaurants and accessible public transportation. Dining room open 24 hrs with coffee, pastries, cereals... Only downside is that the room wasn't cleaned at all during our stay. More

This was my second stay at the Lovett Inn and it again proved to be a value with a great location in Houston. The Inn itself is a lovely house set in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood that is close by to the city's attractions(bars, restuarants, movie theaters, etc) via car yet it remains quiet enough at night to get... Just had a 7 night stay at Lovett Inn ( also stayed 7 nights in September 2009) and it is a charming and unpretentious establishment, in a very green and leafy area of this city. All the rooms in the main house or in the town houses next door (where I stayed) are well furnished and maintained. The anytime, all... More
