I stayed here in June 2008 while on business with Texas Children's Hospital. The location is supremely convenient to the Medical Center - I only had to walk a block to get to TCH - and a tram line passes directly in front of the hotel. The lobby of the hotel is surprisingly spartan and clinical looking, which made me... more

I stayed as a Katrina evacuee. I checked in late Sept., 05, and I was "checked out" early Oct., 05. Unbelievably, this hotel had me arrested. A Somali or Ethiopian woman working in the gift shop falsely accused me of threatening to "cut her head off". I kid you not. (Apparently in retaliation for my earlier refusing to vacate the... more

This review is based on a five-night stay in March 2008 by a business traveller who frequents Marriott-branded and Hilton-branded hotel properties. Overall: the hotel is okay for what you're paying; it meets the standard full Marriott level of expectation for cleanliness and service. It is clearly an older hotel that was renovated relatively recently. Pros: + soft beds. +... more

Shuttle service is horrible-that is one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. Had to walk several times to and from the hospital. Staff was unfriendly, no verbal greeting or smiles??? Ice machine was out of order on the 6th floor,(did have a sign), went to the 3rd and 4th floor, no ice and no out of order sign,... more

I stayed here over Christmas while visiting relatives. I deliberately chose this hotel over others because I felt that it would be quieter and out of the way of the usual holiday frenzy, but close enough to restaurants and shops in the Montrose area. I was right in that respect - I did not see or hear another person on... more

I stayed here two nights with my husband for a conference. The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of the Texas Medical Center and is a great location for access to the hospitals and clinics and Rice University. Location-wise, I don't think you could do better than this if you needed access to most areas of the medical center.... more

I've stayed here several times when visiting M.D. Anderson because it's within walking distance. I love Marriott, and this hotel is one of the best Marriott hotels I've stayed at. The Spring Hill Suites nearby is also excellent. The shuttle service is a wonderful service. The only problems I've had is getting room service late at night, and not having... more

Stayed here for a few days while working at the medical center. First room I got was horribly musty and mildewy smelling. Changed rooms, the second being slightly better - but I had to turn the A/C off to not get the must smell in the room. I know Houston is humid, but for crying out loud a Marriot should... more

The room was quite adequate, but small considering the price. But what really irritated me was the parking situation. First, it was a pretty far walk from the garage to the hotel. Second, the parking did not have in and out priveleges so it was $9 each time we went in and out of the garage. Another thing I didn't... more

I live in Houston. My daughter had several events over this weekend at Rice University so rather than drive back and forth I decided it would simplify things to stay right in the area. The Marriott Med Center is a great location for all Medical facilities....I chose it because it was also pet friendly(for a fee) unfortunetly a place to... more
