Couldn't have asked for a better weekend! My daughters and I had planned a Mexican cruise, but due to the Swine Flu, Carnival canceled our 5 day cruise. We decided to spend our time together at the Houstonian. It was awesome! Since it was my birthday weekend, we received the most beautiful dozen chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room.... more

Traveled to Houston, TX for Wrestlemania XXV. They have everything. The spa, Wow. This is a first class hotel that would be nice to visit without the children so as to be able to take advantage of all of their deluxe spa services. The pools, restaurants indoor and out and the service were all top notch. They have a driver... more

I come to the Houstonian for the spas but the great service and nice rooms are the reason I stay overnight. The hotel was busy but check-in was fast without feeling rushed and the woman at the front desk was very friendly. Not only was I allowed to check in a couple hours early, I was even given a complimentary... more

Stayed here for a night. The one thing that was good about the hotel was the pool, which was great for kids. The bathroom was way too small but the shower was very powerful and nice. The rooms were just average size. Walking around the hotel grounds itself is very pleasant. The breakfast was rather disappointing for an American hotel.... more

Hmmmm.... don't have a whole lot to say. I personally would rather stay at a Holiday Inn or somewhere that at least gives you some kind of breakfast the next morning. There was nothing special about the Houstonian. I tried their spa treatment and nothing special. At 200 a night I would have expected something to stand out. more

My husband works just a few minutes from this property so I surprised him by coming down from the suburbs for a relaxing rainy night. I wanted to check in early and enjoy the spa so I called that morning and was told they could have my room ready early. The room was ready as promised and I was swiftly... more

First time stay, only one night. Great service - friendly but not obtrusive. Wonderful standard room, plenty of living space for relaxing. Ipod/Iphone docking station is a nice touch. Lobby and bar have a great atmosphere. Definitely relaxing and beautifully serene setting despite being in the heart of Houston. Easy access to wonderful shopping and dining. Can't wait to return... more

I stayed here for a week in February and the place is absolutely fantastic. The meeting rooms were emaculate, the food served during breaks was also excellent (big bowls of raspeberries, blueberries and blackberries) and the only thing I could pick them up on was that the boiling water was sometimes 'just hot'. They have a fantastic gym / pool... more

Stayed here over Christmas while visiting family. Staff were helpful. Kids loved the Christmas trainset and decorations mounted around the fireplace. Decided to order room service as the kids were pretty tired - worse food I ever tasted - pretty bad. Would stay there again but wouldn't fancy eating there - I can only presume that regular sit down meals... more

First off, this hotel does have great service. It seems as though there is always someone around looking to be helpful. This is true of the front desk and restaurant areas. The hotel itself...well, you could tell it *used to be* a grand place. Nowdays, it seems to be slowly becoming decrepit--and this is despite a remodeling job in 2008.... more
