I love history and all the charm old hotels have to offer, so it was exciting to stay at the Jefferson. Whenever we visit an old town, it's the best way to go. Actually the historic part of Jefferson is very small, so the hotel ideally located, but unfortunately, I have to agree with those who've commented on upkeep. This... more

I’ve stayed in my share of historic hotels and although most have wall paper peeling in some places and a chair or two that squeaks when you sit on them, I often adore them and just say the place has a bit of charm. However, the owner is obviously letting this place fall apart. There was a hole in our... more

Went ghost hunting with my best friend last weekend and stayed at the Jefferson. We had a BLAST!!!! The hotel staff was very kind and friendly. My friend is a skeptic of all paranormal and I'm the opposite--what you'd call "sensitive." The ghosts were awesome. There was tons of energy. You may think I'm crazy, but my skeptic friend ran... more

We stayed here Saturday June 20th in room 24, while attending the blues festival in Linden. Everything was outstanding! Anyone with any compaints obviously has no appreciation for authenticity or history, and would be probably be more at home at a motel 6. I plan to come back and make a weekend of it, between the hotel, Auntie Skinners, and... more

Girls weekend away for a little ghost hunting and sightseeing. Desk clerk was wonderful the whole time. He waited on us hand and foot and always had a smile on his face. We rented room 18 Friday night and 21 Saturday night. No ghost sightings all weekend! Overall the stay was pleasant, but the hotel could use some minor updating... more

I make frequent visits to Jefferson, TX and I always start with a visit to the Jefferson Hotel. The staff are...I guess in one word...WONDERFUL!!! I love the rooms and they all have a historic feel to them. It makes you want to throw on a "southern bell" hoop skirt and sit on the front porch with a hand held... more

We (me, friends, spouse, paranormal group) always go down there for paranormal conferences, bigfoot conferences, car shows, etc. and the staff are very sweet, helpful, and the place is always clean, charming, and right in the heart of evreything that's going on. We always stay there and would recommmend it to anyone and everyone at any given time. Casey more

Me and my family have been staying at the Jefferson Hotel since 2005. We totally love our trips to Jefferson. We love Lamanche's and we love this hotel. The owners go home and night so you can explore the hotel all night. The beds are comfortable and we love the ghost. We have had so many things happen to us... more

We had a great time at the Jefferson Hotel. We stayed in room 22 and it was beautiful. Decoreated in period furniture and an antique claw foot tub. If you expect lots of modern amenities don't, there is no wi-fi but you do have cable tv. The hand helf shower on our tub was kind of dated and leaked but... more

We're all for old hotels with their quirks and eccentricities. But there is no excuse for the appalling lack of maintenance found here. We stayed in Jefferson 2 nights. The first night was at The Excelsior, the second at The Jefferson. On the first evening we met a couple who happened to be staying at The Jefferson in the same... more
