We stayed at Mayab recently as part of a tour we were on, and were disappointed for several reasons. Many of the rooms face an interior hallway and get no natural light or effective ventilation; ours had a bad smell that didn't go away for the two nights we were there. We got into town late and wanted a room quickly. This was very cheap, but we found out later some other places which looked nicer would have been the same price. The hallways can be noisy and you hear everything in the whole place. A couple having an arguement (at 2:00am) in there room down the hall could be heard... more
