The hotel is absolutely beautiful to look at from the outside. Unfortunately after that, it was a huge let down. The service for dinner was very slow, - we waited 1 hour for our main course and even then it was undercooked. We stayed in one of the expensive 4 posters, but were woken up at just after 8am by... more

We've visited Rushton Hall about half a dozen times and although it has improved, it still has problems. Most importantly, it is really poor value. You can easily face a bill of £ 90 for an ordinary lunch. If you want an afternoon tea and choose to substitute something on the set menu, they will charge you for BOTH items.... more

I made the mistake of staying in a really expensive hotel spa for 3 nights, then going to Rushton Hall immediately afterwards. The rooms are dull, boring, bathrooms are outdated, beds are small (I was in a superior with my wife) funny noises, hot and airless. But it was clean. The only other negative was the evening meal which was... more

Rushton hall is amazing to look at and amazing in the brochures. It's everything you'd expect from an old English manor house. The spa is nice and the countryside beautiful. However, I would strongly recommend that you don't visit Rushton Hall in the summer and if you do make sure you get one of the few air conditioned rooms. My... more

Liked the look of this place on the web as it is not the normal, nice house but bedrooms in a modern block hotel. Stayed in the Van Allen room as recomended by reception on the phone. Nice room with a wonderful view but would have liked a rug on the woooden floor. Most expensive place we have stayed in... more

When the staff found out we were on our honeymoon they were so helpful. Gave us champagne and canapes. All the food was amazing, very attentive waiters but not over bearing. 1st room was a bit scary- it was no problem to change to another. Spa staff not as helpful, couldn't take drinks round pool area as at other spas.... more

In both photographs and from a distance Rushton Hall has a look of Victorian Jacobethan but when you get there you realise it's the real thing. Seriously lovely building on a big scale and facilities to match. Comfortable bedrooms (though given the nature of the house they vary considerably and you'd be wise to check what you're getting in advance).... more

Had a two day mid-week romantic break at this hotel and everything was just perfect! Booked a special rate for the Tuesday of £80 B&B and decided to extend for an extra night as there was an Easter special DB&B rate inclusive of cream tea. (£160) The drive up to the hotel is spectacular, and my partner was very impressed.... more
