A fantastic, atmospheric hotel. Hazel the owner was so welcoming and made sure every thing was ok. She gave us tips on what to go see and even suggested places not on the usual tourist maps which were wonderful. At breakfast we had a special childrens menu which was great, the food was superb and we had a high chair... more

The location of The Lodge was exactly as expected and a great base. The owners were ok but not particularly warm in their welcome. The room was adequate although the decor was a strain with it's various competing patterns. The food was especially disappointing as I'd deliberately picked somewhere with a restaurant! Firstly we were served in the bar. A... more

I came to skye to do some walking with my family we had just a bad experience in a inverness hotel so didnt know what to expect. we arrived to friendly reception with a very large fire in the lounge area already blazing . Our rooms were comfortable and clean ,showers looked like they were very new and powerful which... more

The reviews indicate that ones experince here is very hit and miss - some love it others wish they had gone eslewhere. This was our expereince - wish we had gone elsewhere. The website did not give us an accurate expectation of our stay. There was not the warm friendly atmosphere we expected - it was all rather 'sad'. Housekeeping... more

We stayed here just recently for one night on our way through Skye. We had a lovely stay. Hazel and Peter were both very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home, they let us use their phone for free, the rooms - although the decor is maybe slightly dated - were clean and comfortable and had all the... more

This was our first stay at the Lodge, and I guarantee we will be returning in the future. Hazel and Peter were so welcoming, and with me and my girlfriend being keen walkers, Hazel was more then welcome to give us advice on good places to walk and sights to see on the island. The rooms were immaculately cleaned as... more

Having recently stayed at the Lodge, my wife and I would like to thank "Peter & Hazel" for a fantastic stay. Excellent food, lovely room and a convivial atmosphere. You could not ask for more from a small family run hotel. We are very much looking forward to our next visit. more

This place is, as someone said in another review, oozing with charm. It's got a great location - halfway between Portree and Dunvegan. It's nestled in Edinbane away from the main road traffic, but near a lovely stream. It has history and all the little nooks and crannies that an older building will have. The rooms were clean and comfortable.... more

Having driven for over 12hrs from the midlands we were very surprised to be met with a frosty ‘welcome’ by Hazel “if you smoke (we don’t) you will have to go outside” – that was it! I was then shown to our room which was adequate and thankfully did not smell like the hall and landing of ‘stale dog’ .... more
