For a belated Mother's Day gift, my daughter planned a special getaway for the two of us at the Jones House B&B in Nacogdoches. Although we loved the city and the surrounding countryside, we were quite disappointed in the B&B. We love the pampered feeling and unique experience that a B&B usually offers, so we wouldn't normally mind spending $200+ for such a weekend. However, in this case, we definitely felt cheated. The house was lovely, and our room -- the Genevieve -- was quite spacious and comfortable. But, after the hosts greeted us, swiped our credit card and showed us our room, they soon disappeared for the weekend. Early in the evening, we heard music wafting our way from "Jazz on the Patio" across the street...with the sounds of music, loud voices and squealing tires prevailing past midnight.
