The room was dirty, my wife mistook the rats in the walls for ghosts,"antique" furnishings were cheap modern knock-offs, noise from the bar 1 block down was "interesting". With no television or radio, the relaxation consisted of watching the drunk tourists walk up and down the sidewalk. And speaking of drunks, the group staying over the office area were low... more

This hotel is best for couples or friends who travel -- great history, pool but not walking distance to the beach. Good coffee shop across the street and lots of bars on the other side. Still, I liked the old fashioned touches -- rockers on the porch, clawfoot tubs, etc. more

The lobby was nice, but the evening staff were completely unhelpful. The plumbing on the toilet literally exploded and sprayed water everywhere. I shut off the water and then when to find help. The only staff person did not help me at all when I needed to move to another room. Very - Very overpriced for what is provided. Better... more

My husband and I decided to get away for a weekend at the coast and decided to "wing it" as far as a hotel was concerned. We found The Tarpon Inn and I was absolutely impressed and loved not having a t.v. or phone in our room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Port Aransas area.... more

Our family just returned from a 2 nite stay at the Tarpon. Its an old hotel full of history and character. They are remodeling and you can see the work being done. Its not an inconvenience. It will be beautiful when its done. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are well decorated but small. Great to have the pool and... more

My Mom and I wanted to go see the Gulf Coast, so I searched Tripadvisor for recommendations in the Corpus Christie area, but found the Tarpon Inn in Port Aransas by a fluke. I picked it because it looked different and appeared to have a lot more character than a chain hotel. We stayed there for two nights in the... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Tarpon Inn. The building and grounds are nice and well kept. Our 2 twin bed room was cute and clean. There were plenty of rocking chairs on the veranda where we rocked and listened to the live musice across the street. It was also just a block away from the dock where the fishing... more

Stayed at the Tarpoon Inn for a get away weekend from Houston. The room, though small, was cool and very attractive. The staff couldn't be friendlier and the rocker filled porch was the perfect social scene. We would definately return. more

We stumbled on the Tarpon Inn, when we literally got Blown off the Beach at the state park. I brought my daughter and her friend down from Minneapolis. Camping on the beach sounded like just the thing we needed until 75 mile per hour winds blew our tent in the air during the middle of the night. So...after spending the... more
