Stayed at the hotel last week on a recomendation of a friend and was blown away. I had no idea there was a place like this in texas, an awesome beach front resort without a hyway between the two. My girl and i could even take our drinks we had at the restraunt onto the beach after dinner. The food... More

This is a extremely clean hotel with a great view. We were not disappointed in the "next to the gulf" views of the rooms nor in the gathering areas at the end of the complex of rooms. The staff was friendly and nice and pointed out several places to eat. We opted for the eatery next door. The food that... More

I am glad to hear that your stay at our hotel was enjoyable, and that the food was good. I apologize for the slow service in the morning, we recently switched from counter service to wait staff. We are still training our new staff. The service should be improved in time for your next visit. We pride ourselves on having... More

We stayed in the newest addition, the room was nice other than a couple of cockroaches on the walls an the water from the faucet was Brown, foamy, and smelled bad. There was a fight amongst several loud people in the parking lot at midnight resulting multiple cops coming and loud altercation on the stairwell outside our window. Then around... More

I do apologize for the issues that you had during your stay. We did unfortunately have a rowdy group on site and they were removed and told not to come back. We are looking into the incident that happened at 4am. If you can provide more information on your stay it would be helpful for us to be able to... More

I flew to Houston to meet a friend and attend a weekend gathering. Since I was coming from Indiana, I decided to take a few extra days and just "get away". I originally planned to stay on Galveston but decided to look for someplace a little more secluded. I stumbled on Ocean Village while looking on Google Earth and decided... More

I'm glad that you stumbled upon our little hidden treasure! The staff is definitely a Hoot! They add to the overall awesome atmosphere and experience. We are currently hiring more staff to get prepared for the busier times so some are still training. If you eat here for lunch and dinner the menu is the same but there are 2... More

When planning this trip we called local chamber's of commerce, tourism bureau, etc and was told by all not to stay in Surfside to stay in Clute. Ocean Village was not the Ritz by any means but a nice find. Problems: when making the reservation the hostess added our stay to someone else's CC. We requested a room with a... More

My first impression of the hotel staff was not good. It was difficult to get someone on the phone to make a reservation. When we arrived to check in, the front desk staff was very unfriendly. We stayed in room 301 (honeymoon suite). The bathroom was small and the shower was even smaller. The tub was average size. The water... More

When checking in, the lady that checked us in was grouchy and frankly unfriendly. She was not accomadating in her manner or thoughtful. We now have new staff and are currently hiring more friendly smiling front desk. The older rooms are smaller than the new rooms. The new addition has larger bathrooms and more space in the rooms. The breakfast, especially the pancakes, are to die for! Come back and see us again and request the 400 building to get a larger room... More

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. The room was pristine. There was a microwave and fridge and a big screen TV as well as a private balcony with a side view of the ocean.
