We drove from the Dallas area to Breckenridge with the intention of breaking our trip into two days of driving. The night before we left, I realized I forgot to reserve overnight lodging somewhere midway. I searched from Amarillo to towns in New Mexico only to find that every place was sold out. And because we have four children, our best option was to find a suite rather than two motel rooms. After extensive searching on the internet, I found one place called Texline Inn that had a vacancy. I contacted the motel directly, speaking to the daughter of the owners (who purchased the property two years earlier and were in the middle of renovating and redecorating the rooms). She told me there was one suite room available that could accomodate our family. The total cost including tax was just under $85, much less expensive than the other similar hotels I contacted.
