This year the annual Texas Geocaching Challenge was held at Lake Mineral Wells State Park, just on the west side of Weatherford. The park itself has lots of camping, but it was all booked. I've since been told that this is true most of the camping season. I looked up hotels in Mineral Wells and they ranged from 'not worth mentioning' to 'eeegad!'. Weatherford had decent hotels, but was not really close enough to the State Park to get there early in the morning. So, we decided to camp.
Back Acre RV Park turned out to be a very nice quiet RV Park with a gravel road and lots of trees. Behind the showers/bathrooms, stretched a nice grassy area that overlooks a river. This was saved for tent campers. You can park right next to the shower building and it is only 15 feet to your tent. You have constant electricity (if you bring an extension cord), clean bathrooms and showers, and a wonderful breezeway porch with gliders and tables to have your morning breakfast.
