Fantastic place off the beaten track, which was perfect for our trip to the Needles in Canyonlands. The owner, Bob, has created an authentic 'wild west' inn and steakhouse, with great character. The rooms all looked v clean and well appointed but we chose Madam Roz, with a large wooden bed, sofa and balcony. The steakhouse proved the perfect place... more

My husband and I stayed here on a recent trip to the various National Parks in Utah and found that it was one of the best bargains out there (we paid $49 for one night). I'd say this place was more like a bed and breakfast (without the breakfast), than a motel. The room ('Miss Bell') was very basic (no... more

Don't stay here if you're looking for conveniences such as a refrigerator and microwave. It's not that type of place. The less expensive rooms are just large enough for two people and the shower is on the small side. Stay here if you're looking for something rustic... something out of the ordinary... something right out of the TV series, "Gunsmoke."... more

I agree with other reviewers who said that the Runnin' Iron Inn is very nice, but I think it's important to know what's lacking in this accommodation. The restaurant is only open from 5 PM until around 8 PM. Outside of those hours, there is no food or beverage available without driving a substantial distance. The rooms don't have coffee... more

First had a basic motel booked in Moab but then we found this place on internet. What a great place. Such a difference to all the other places around. We had no problems finding it and we were amazed when we saw it. Such a lovely and relaxing place. We stayed in a room called " the Shady Lady" Just... more

I've traveled all over the world staying at the finest hotels, fascinating inns, charming B & B's, and your basic lodging. The Runnin' Iron Inn is a one of a kind. Don't expect luxury accommodations here rather a charm that is unique to itself. It is easy to drive right by this place since it is hidden from the road... more

I had the pleasure of staying one night here. I really liked the intimate atmosphere and old world charm of the Wild West, highlighted by period furniture, with an old gun and hats stuck up on the walls. The bar had coins of all sorts of countries stuck to it beneath a piece of film. The meal was good and... more

Stumbled across this place on google whilst planning our trip. It seemed a reasonable price and a bit out of the ordinary compared to the standard motel accomodation we had been staying in. I took note of it being 8 miles north of Monticello as I thought we may have trouble finding the place. We never made reservation as we... more
