It has been a week since I got home, and I'm glad that a survey request was sent. I have had time to mellow since my stay at Super 8. I felt that this motel was overpriced for the room quality and amenities provided. Comparably priced motels that we stayed in along our trip (and in previous trips) had much more to offer. First, the gentleman at the counter on check in gave an air of indifference. It's hard, as a customer, to be faced with this type of attitude when you've been driving for 8 hours and are exhausted. I did not feel welcome at Super 8. Next, upon entry to our room, we were greeted by a stale, moldy smell. Right away I was feeling dirty in the room. Also, the bed was itchy, which had me worried about the possibility of bed bugs. My young daughter was uncomfortable as well, and I would not let her walk around on the carpet without her flip flops.
