We stayed one night at the Maplecroft B&B and wished we were staying longer. Our hosts were so delightful and friendly. The house is also spectacular. We stayed in the Elia Corti Suite, and found it completely charming. The bedroom is in one room, with a sink, and then there is a private hallway to another room that has a... more

The Maplecroft B&B was centrally located between all the must-sees in Vermont. We spent a few days seeing sights as they are 20-30 min. from the Ben & Jerry's factory tour, Stowe, maple syrup! Less than an hour from Burlington, the B&B is in the cutest little town. The innkeepers are fantastic and really care about the house, having recently... more

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at the recently renovated B & B. The new owners, Dan Jones and Yasunari Ishii, have done a great job remodeling and updating the house. They are transplants from Northern Virginia and are fulfilling a long time dream. Dan is the business part of the team while Yasunari whips up his outstanding... more

Paul and Marianne are wonderful innkeepers: welcoming and friendly, but able to give you your space as you prefer. It's a fun, nicely maintained and decorated B&B, but it's not overly cute like some places. His magic history and her quilts fill the house, and there are books everywhere to browse and borrow. It's located just a few blocks from... more

We stayed there for 3 nights and had a great time. Paul & Marianne were very hospitable. We arrived very late the first night and they arranged it so that we could enter through the back door and have the ground floor room so save us from schlepping everything up the stairs in the middle of the night. Our rooms... more

The Maplecroft is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. The house itself is lovely and welcoming, decorated with an intriguing mix of period pieces, magical memorabilia, and beautiful quiltwork. The host and hostess are gracious and very accommodating; their advice on dining and local sights is invaluable. If you're lucky, breakfast will be the French Toast casserole. more

Our second ever B&B in the US and once again it didn't disappoint. A lovely old house with loads of character, comfortable and clean rooms, great food and friendly hosts. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts and Paul and Marianne's willingness to sit and chat with their guests. If you are looking a place to stay in Barre then look no... more

We stayed at Maplecroft on our way to Ottawa. Love the homemade quilts in each room and all the other touches they've put into the rooms. Breakfast was also quite tasty. Paul and Marianne are wonderful hosts, in fact we had such a good time visiting with them that we ended up behind in our driving schedule. <smile> more

We have stayed here three times, and will do so again. Paul and Marianne are wonderful, the house is comfortible and pleasant. It is also located right next door to the Vt. Historical Society Library, and only a short drive to the Vt. State Archives. It is just genealogists paradise. more

We have stayed at Maplecroft twice while visiting our son, who is a cadet at Norwich University in nearby Northfield. Paul and Marianne are wonderful hosts, the rooms are very nice, all the beds have handmade quilts, and the breakfasts are so good. Maplecroft is close enough to downtown Barre that one can walk to restaurants, etc. Plenty of sites... more
