I had been to Crystal Lake State Park as a child and had good memories of being there, so when I found these cabins online, I decided to find out more and we ended up staying for 2 nights. For $75 per night in the middle of the summer this was a real bargain. The cabins were as I expected and somewhat dated but had a full kitchen and dishes, pots pans etc.. to cook with. The cabins are seperated from the lake by a little traveled highway (route 5) in this remote location. Across the street is the beach with a large lawn where you can just lounge around or play badmiton or horseshoes or whatever. The water is "crystal" clear and there is a gradual drop off so swimming is fun. They have a canoe, a rowboat and a paddleboat you can use for no charge. The lake is small and there are very few motor boats. The town is small too so don't go thinking you can do a lot of other things in the area, but there is a good supermarket, and pharmacy with wi-fi internet access which... more
