We rented this place from the owner on his site: [--]. In the past the vacation homes we have rented in New England have been well-lived in, fully furnished, cosy, and at times luxurious. From the pictures from this site, we were expecting something similar.
We were disappointed to find that Camp Dipsy Doodle is actually a converted cabin. The living conditions are rustic, and the place only partially furnished. If people come to Mallet's Bay looking to rent cabins, that may be OK, but for the price and from the picture, we were expecting much more.
The cabin sits on a busy street. To get to the beach you cross the street and go down a flight of steps. The beach is small and covered with broken glass. My sister spent the week raking up a whole basket full of glass so that her kids wouldn't cut their feet while on the sand. Mallet's Bay is not that scenic so we did not spend a lot of time on the beach. The fishing is good though.
