I held a 70th birthday luncheon at Hartwell House. The event was a great success, with all my guests commenting on how much they had enjoyed themselves, particularly the quality of service, the food and the wines. Certainly a location to be highly commended. More

The value for money of Hartwell House is undeniable and the drive in to Burlington is very straight forward meaning the location is one of its plus points. Personally I found the property a bit "dated" and there were lots of trinkets which doesn't really do it for me. It made the place feel quite unmodern. I guess we got... More

I stayed at Hartwell for a short stop in Burlington. There are three guest rooms, all upstairs; bathroom is shared. Host friendly, good breakfast. The location is south of downtown Burlington, so it's close and accessible without being in the middle of the bustle. It's a short drive to the UVM campus. More

We loveld staying with Linda in her lovely house which is full of amazing art and character. The best character of all is Linda! She is warm, accomodating, and boy can she poach eggs! Breakfast was lovely, and you were always asked what you wanted, so never felt you had to eat something you weren't too keen on. We slept... More

We didn't get the normal B&B welcome tour, so were unsure where breakfast was served or if we had use of any communal lounge or not. Notices about rules were on notes about the house, but we missed some of them so it would have been nice to have been told instead. Breakfast was tasty and talking to the owners... More

I stayed here while moving my daughter back to the University of Vermont. It was an excellent deal for its wonderful neighborhood. Across the street from the busline, which takes you to UVM and Church St. The house has a beautifully maintained inground pool, which was just lovely to swim in. I enjoyed my hostess, Linda, her dogs, and the... More

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The innkeeper was far from friendly! There was not a moment that I felt welcomed in her home. The house smells like dog and mildew. Even though I love dogs, I did appreciate her dogs barking all morning long, waking me up early on my only day to sleep in. The room... More

We were on a world trip for four months and stayed at Hartwell House for two nights whilst travelling through New England. We came on the bus and were able to walk there from the bus station. It is a beautiful property and we stayed in the smaller double room. The property is immaculate and furnished with amazing antiques which... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hartwell House for one night but I definitely wish that it had been for more. Linda is great and her poached eggs really are the best I've had, which was a surprise. It's very much like you are staying in someone's house and you do share a bathroom but it's fine and everything is... More

I enjoyed my stay at Hartwell House. Linda fixed a full breakfast with eggs and was very pleasant. When one is away from home, it's a relief to locate a fairly-priced B&B in wihch to lay one's head. Linda will go to Heaven for her kindness. More
