We received a gift certificate for the Craftsbury Inn. When I went online to get information, my first clue was that the site didn't work. Then they didn't reply to my emails, or my phone messages. Finally I got a real person, who made our reservation. The reviews made me very nervous, but it was a gift certificate, so we... More

Dusty and dirty... Can't believe this owner gets away with charging $125/night. This place should be closed down or referred to hotel impossible! Just ridiculously dirty and home is falling apart with a lot of dust and cobwebbs. Made me feel like I was in ms havisham's home from great expectations!!! contemplated just sleeping in our car but we managed... More

Unbelievably filthy! To get to our supper table in the dusty, dirty, and cramped dining room we walked past a table covered with dirty dishes, from who knows how long ago. Of course, when we entered for breakfast we walked past that table, plus the one with our dirty dishes from last night. The small sitting room had a plastic-wrap... More

We had never stayed at the Craftsbury Inn before but it looked like a grand old building. My husband was participating in a big ski race in Craftsbury. After arriving late in a snowstorm , owner, innkeeper and chef Bill was welcoming and showed us to our room; small and with a tiny bathroom. No other guests were booked in... More

As Bette Davis once said, "What a dump!" This place would have you think "shabby/ quaint" but in fact it's dirty/ dilapidated. When I laid down and looked up at the ceiling I seriously considered going out and sleeping in my car. Failing courage for that move, I anticipated waking to a shower of falling plaster. The bathroom was so... More

RudigerVT's review below is a fair reflection of our recent stay too. The inn is a high maintenance old building and, while charming and entirely sound, is unquestionably in need of some capital spend and refurbishment in places. Having said this, the basics were right: our bed was comfortable, the linen was clean and we slept very soundly. Our only... More

Our stay began by being greeted by a big dumpster in guest parking. Entering the inn was even worse: the owner was surly when he rook us to our rooms . Even though we had communicated through email prior to making the reservation that one if us was vegetarian, he seemed to have no recollection or interest in that fact.... More

The economic down-turn has not been kind to the Craftsbury Inn. This is a truly historic facility, which means it's high-maintenance. It's also a farm. Tourist traffic to the Northeast Kingdom's always been light (it's pretty remote), and I think that it's just barely above a break-even point. This place could use a fair degree of work to restore its... More

Yes, sadly this "Inn" is now a joke. Yes, the breakfast is Bisquick and white bread. Yes, the "cleaning" seems to be done on a monthly schedule, is at all. Yes, the building and finish look ready to collapse at any moment. My own experience included a decrepit bed/mattress, a plugged sewage drain which overflowed into our bathroom and rained... More

We booked a king room at the Craftsbury Inn, but on our arrival (Christmas night) we were told that the heat wasn't working in that part of the house. We were put in a different room, one with two wretchedly uncomfortable beds and a tiny and unheated bathroom. We were too tired to protest, and we were not sure why... More
