Surrounded by mountains and nestled in a quintessential Vermont country village, the Silas Griffith Inn is the perfect spot for that special romantic getaway. This Victorian estate was built in 1891 by Silas Griffith, Vermont's first millionaire. Converted to a country inn in the 1950s, the property retains its historical character and charm while pampering guests with modern amenities and friendly innkeepers. more » « less

This B&B is a real gem. I was traveling alone, but I'm eager to return for a longer stay with my husband! The innkeepers are warm and welcoming; I was delayed and arrived late at night...they had stayed up waiting after making several attempts to contact me out of concern for my safety! The house has a storybook feel to... more

Wow! Were we pleasantly surprised! Located within an easy drive of several ski resorts, we found a real gem. The decor was charming and romantic. The mountain views were lovely. The food at the on site restaurant, Emma's, was delicious. You'll feel right at home in the common areas. The attention from our hosts was over the top special. And... more

We stayed at the Silas Griffith Inn in October - and were extremely disappointed. It was our 25th anniversary - and a long awaited trip to New England. Thankfully the trip was redeemed by wonderful stays in New Hampshire and Maine. But the Silas Griffith Inn was very bad. The staff of 7 "incudes a 2 year old" in the... more

My husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary at this B&B and were very disappointed. For 2 out of the 3 days we stayed, the breakfast offered was buffet style instead of a nice sit-down breakfast (the website mentioned wonderful meals from the menu which we were not offered on these days). We also tried dinner at the inn but... more

The Silas Griffith Inn is a beautiful place, with cozy rooms, good food, and incredible hospitality. The owners are a wonderful, open family who work hard to make sure that every visit is personal. The grounds are breathtaking, and the surrounding area has some great antique shopping. I'll be back...in no more than a couple of months! more

This place is great. We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend (2006). The food was fabulous. The owners were excellent in accommodating our needs. I will definitely stay here again and will highly recommend anyone to spend time at this EXCELLENT inn. more

I can't say enough wonderful things about this inn! Located on a quiet street, but just off Route 7 which takes you to lots of Vermont attractions. The inn was a nice mix of cheerful colors and quality antiques. And the owners were absolutely the nicest people around! Friendly, helpful, always willing to do anything to make your stay nicer.... more
