I love Dorset, VT! Let's get that straight! The perfect town with plenty to do for all walks of life and of all ages. This has been my fourth visit in as many years, and I have grown to love everything Dorset has to offer. Of all my visits this has been the most disappointing. I hate to say it... More

This was our third or fourth stay at the Dorset and each time I pronounce it to be the real deal in an old fashioned Vermont Inn. We always go in the cold season to enjoy the log burning fireplaces throughout the public areas. They add to the warmth and charm that permeates the whole place. The food is also... More

We had a great time last weekend at the Dorset Inn. It was our first visit to Vermont and the staff made us feel very comfortable. We will always cherish our first souvenir- a paper map of Vermont that was given to us for our day trip to Woodstock. Thank you for the great service and attentiveness you provided during... More

We have been visiting the Inn since the early 80s, and it has changed ownership since then, but has not changed its wonderful warmth, hospitality, and grace. A historic building, oozing charm, with real fireplaces welcoming visitors to the cozy sitting rooms, and updated guest rooms with comfortable beds and lovely quirks. The dining is superb, complemented by a modest,... More

Actually, it was 20+ years ago that I stayed here. BEFORE the Internet! Reminiscing my past, I am writing. I recall being treated like family, with staff insuring I had my meal before retiring to bed. Very quaint with history fully engulfing me. The restaurant was simply spectacular. I wish I can get back for another visit!

A very clean and well maintained old Inn. Staff are professional, curteous and demonstrate interest in their jobs. Rooms are nicely decorated, clean, a little on the small side but that should be expected when selecting a historic building to stay in. Fireplaces in living room and in the dinning room were always burning which was very nice. Great scotch... More

We are usually big city types but wanted peace and quiet in gorgeous Vermont. We lucked into finding the Dorset Inn, which exceeded all expectations - incredible food and wine ( and delicious breakfast included), beyond comfortable room with luxury bathroom and great bed, lovely staff who made us feel right at home, and wonderful places to walk - we... My wife and I purchased a groupon for two nights at the Dorset Inn. We ended up going in January of 2013. The inn is gorgeous. It is obviously a very old inn but at the same time they have done a great job of renovating it but at the same time keepings its old charm. The room we had... More

Thank you very, very much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are so happy that you were able to enjoy St. Patrick's Day with us -- it's one of the Inn's long-standing traditions and very popular with local folks as well as Inn guests. Our chefs are amazing and our guests always leave very satisfied. It... More
