We stayed at the Barrows House 2 years ago and had a wonderfully memorable stay. However, we stayed there just this past Fall and was put in the Carriage House. The Carriage House was deplorable for the type of establishment that the Barrows House is supposed to be. The interior looked as if it hadn't been painted in years, toilet... more

We chose the Barrows House on our visit to the Manchester area because it was one of the few B&Bs that could accomodate our group (a group of 3 that needed a 2 room suite accessible without climbing stairs). We stayed in the Carriage House (which can accomodate a family with up to 6 kids!), which worked great for us.... more

Our family has stayed at the Barrows House with friends' families for a weekend for most of the past 18 years. It may not be perfect, but for what it has it can't be beat. The location, close to the middle of the picture postcard gorgeous town of Dorset, and ten minutes from the shopping Mecca of Manchester, is superb.... more

My husband & I drove up from Troy, New York where we were visiting relatives. We are from Seattle, Washington. We just spent one night, as we had Christmas plans with our family in Troy. We had such a wonderful stay!, we did not want to leave. We stayed in the "Birds Nest" ... so clean and cozy, thanks to... more

We stayed the Barrows House Inn this summer and had a wonderful time. The property has a main house and a number of smaller buildings with a few rooms in each. The Inn is spread out on a large parcel of land and there is a large beautiful garden adjacent to the main house. I found the room we had... more

The Barrows House is quite nice looking from the outside however, our room was another matter. The room was small and cheaply decorated, neither of which would have alone prompted this negative review. What upset us was the condition of the room. In general, everything was old and in need of replacing. The carpet was ripped in the bedroom and... more

Very disappointed, Extreamly over priced in relation to the other B and B's in the area. They seem will fee you to death, no breakfast included!!! If they offer drinks in the lobby it will seem that they are complimentary but the are not. My wife and 3 kids had cider and found out later that they wanted $5.00 dollars!!!!!... more

We stayed at the Barrows House during Fall 2004. The grounds are gorgeous, and sitting in the breakfast room by the windows, enjoying the lovely views and falling leaves is truly special. Overall, however, this didn't feel like good value for money. The rooms are quite expensive and the standard isn't quite up to other inns charging similar prices in... more
