The Essex was fantastic. The rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the spa services were great. Next time I hope to take advantage of the cooking classes and Saturday night bonfire. Overall, a great relaxing get-away. More

We chose the Culinary Resort because of its proximity to Burlington VT for our New Years Celebration as well as the amenities the hotel offered. We stayed two nights and fully enjoyed the indoor pool and outdoor hot tub as well as the spa services and on site restaurant and tavern. It was everything we wanted... easy, calming, tasty and... Hotel was worn looking in the hallways. NO sound separation between the bedroom and bathroom - yuck. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and pretty. Grounds of the hotel were beautiful....but you are smack dab in the middle of a suburb with a shopping center across the street. I expected it to be a little more out of... More

Let me preface my review by saying that I went due to a Travelzoo deal for about half the normal cost. Otherwise, it would be hard to justify the regular prices. Room was large and clean. Spa is very nice. The "Amuse" restaurant had terrible service. Waited over an hour for entree, even though I complained to the waiter. It... More

Booked a 2-night with full spa access and a gourmet meal at Amuse through Travelzoo Vacations. It came out to about 185$ per person. For this price, everything was great. The rooms were very simple, clean and cottage-like. There was free coffee and tea in each room, as well as better coffee and a better selection of teas in the... More

First off, this is a great place to come stay. The resort itself is very nice, comfortable beds, large rooms, nice amenities... but we were really disappointed by the service. I'm usually not someone to care about this much, but it was so consistently bad that it was hard to ignore. First off - the hostess staff for the restaurants... More

My fiance and I spent the first weekend of February at this resort. We original were only going to stay two nights but ended up staying three. Overall we had a very good experience with some minor picks, but in the end decided we would like go back to the Essex sometime in the future. Check-in / Front Desk: Check... More

We purchased a voucher through Travelzoo and stayed for a weekend in February. The resort staff were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were Clean and spacious. The meal we had at the resort's gourmet restaurant was excellent. Overall we were very impressed with the Essex and would definitely return. More

We booked this trip using a Groupon offer that included a 2 nite stay and cooking class/spa treatment. The property is beautiful, and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The room we had in The Mansion, was a nice size for the four of us, and nice and bright. Beds were very comfortable, although the bathroom was on the small... More

If you're looking for a place to relax, Essex Junction is a good place to stay. It's very quiet as well as clean. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. Stowe is about 45 minutes away. Staff was very friendly. Food was very good as well. I didn't take the culinary class credit, however, I opted for the spa credit (through travelzoo... More
