This inn is a great example of the finest in Vemont hospitality. The inn itself is very 'quaint' with an elevator that still needs an operator!!. The rooms are quite small, as one should expect from a 100+ year hotel. They are also quiet, comfortable and clean. We had a room that overlooked the main street but we never heard... more

The Middlebury Inn is a medium-sized historic hotel in the centre of Middlebury. There seem to be large variety of rooms on offer, reflecting the building's history, with the front coming from the 1820s, the middle bit from the 1900s (where we stayed) and a motel block from the 1960s. The room was reasonable, but the bathroom a little antiquated... more

Great location, nice welcome, friendly staff, impeccably clean and comfortable room. Terrific breakfast. Convenient business center. Loved the books scattered everywhere. Here's hoping the new owners don't try to "upgrade" everything. The only feature which could stand improvement is the elevator. more

Our family of five recently spent a night at the Middlebury Inn while looking at Middlebury College. Our room had 2 queen-sized beds and an attached sitting room with a fold-out couch. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and very spacious, with views of the town square below. We thought of the Middlebury Inn as a bit of a... more

We stayed at the Middlebury Inn ([--]) in for several days while "leaf peeping" in New England. It is a very pleasant, friendly and accommodating hotel on the main square. For no particular reason, I asked if they gave discounts to AARP members. Lucky us – we got 10% off the room bill. We had a small, but pleasant and... more

We stayed at the Middlebury Inn recently for the weekend. This was our first visit to the Inn built in 1827. We stayed in the main building. The main building rooms are each unique in size and layout. We stayed in Room 249. Our room was beautifully decorated with period furniture, lovely wallpaper, high ceilings and a lovely view of... more

Over the last four years, while our son was a student, we stayed many times at the Middlebury Inn. The Inn is actually three properties: the main building, the Porter Mansion, and the Motel. The main building rooms are interesting and reasonably comfortable, although the bathrooms are generally small and modestly updated. The Porter Mansion rooms are larger, ditto the... more

We stayed here on a Thursday evening after a long day of college tours. Our room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. Fridge in the room -- a nice amenity. Breakfast was included and it was one of the BEST free breakfasts we've ever encountered - eggs, potatoes, muffins, unsweetened yogurt, granola, fruit, cereals, hot oatmeal, etc. Yum. Get there by... more

In October of this year I spent 4 days at the Middlebury Inn. It was everything the Website said it was and more. I had a very quaint and cozy room as I had requested. Liked the high ceilings and the fact that you can adjust your own heat according to your needs. Unfortunately 2 highways run right along side... more

I love the Middlebury Inn! It is so classic with beautiful, lacy duvets and pillow shams on the bed, ancient plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms, and it takes imagination to get to your room. There are no long, boring corridors to walk. This is a rambling manor house with numerous split levels. You have to go up half flights of... more
