Montpelier being the smallest state capital in the US doesn't have a huge number of hotels to choose from. The Maplewood is a bit out of town but its close to shops etc. The hotel's a bit dated but its clean and comfortable. The staff are really friendly. Our room, a suite, was spacious and also had a fully equipped... more

Everyone we talked with in the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was very nice as well, and if we come back to Montpelier we will stay here without a doubt. We were given a free upgrade, and the suite was superb! Thanks to all the people at the hotel! more

The fact The Comfort Inn at Maplewood is listed as the best hotel in Montpelier is really a testament to how terrible the lodging is in this area. This place is not much better than a Motel 6. Everything about it is average and its location -- about 5 minutes from downtown Montpelier -- is basically an off-highway truck stop.... more

I was at first disappointed when my husband and I were stranded here after an accident on the highway. Even though we were coming in late and were in distress (we were dropped off by a tow truck) they weren't able to do better than a double bed room and a promo rate of just a small discount (we have... more

We travelled with a toddler and infant and the hotel staff was very accomodating. Great layout for the "King Suite"- separate bedroom had King Bed and its own TV - other room had pull out couch, TV and small kitchen. Ample room for Pack N Play for the infant in the main room. Breakfast every morning was very good, and... more

A stop between the Cog Mountain Railway in New Hampshire and the Adirondacks. A good functional room with a sofa bed for my son and a rollaway for my daughter. Free Wi-fi which kept them both entertained. Only half an hour from Ben and Jerrys factory your and with an Applebees right outside. more

Stayed here one night while vacationing in Vermont. It is close to many attractions near Montpelier, including Ben & Jerry's Visitor Center, the Vermont State House, and Rock of Ages. The location is right off I-89 and is easy to get to and from. There is an Applebee's and a gas station/convenience store next door, and lots of other choices... more

I've stayed here several times for business. It's reliably good. The rooms are good. There are two bottles of bottled water in each room at no charge and free apples and cookies in the reception area. (They also have windshield scrapers at the desk for cold Vermont mornings.) The rooms have cable and room safes. There is an Applebee's restaurant... more

We were headed to Montreal, needed a place for a mid-trip overnight & choose this one at the last minute. Great choice. Exceptionally friendly and cheerful desk staff, good rates, great property with clean and modern rooms with pleasant lobby. Decent breakfast. more
