If you are looking for seclusion, this could be the place for you. No TV, no Internet, no telephones in room, no restaurant in the hotel (or anywhere nearby). But it is quiet and the breakfasts are excellent. Few midweek guests. The drive from Middlebury can be a pain at night. Rooms are small / bathroom is very small. more
We stayed at the Chipman Inn in July 2005 and are going back in a few weeks (July 2006). It's a lovely, historic inn in a beautiful setting, not far from the Robert Frost interpretive walking trail and directly across the street from an honest-to-goodness general store where you can buy anything from soap to Ben & Jerry's ice cream.... more
