Excellent selction in every respect. This is a first class operation. The breakfasts were original and creative. We were sent "down the road" for dinner and found the Shelburne Cafe. We stayed for 3 nights over the 4th of July weekend. It was a very pleasant stay and within walking distance to the Shelburne Museum. We stayed in the Marsette room which had a detached bath...that was fine as it was only a few steps away. Being in the front of the house, we heard a lot of road noise.... more

We had a great weekend at the Heart of the Village. The main purpose of our trip was to visit the Shelburne Museum and we couldn't get a better location. How lovely! A beautiful older home, wonderfully maintained. The owner was friendly and nice and a good cook. As we were the only ones staying there that night, he made fresh omelets that were great. We had a great stay at Heart of the Village. Terrific breakfasts, wonderful service and elegant surroundings. Geoff and Maureen were very helpful and accessible in helping us plan day trips and restaurant meals. (By the way, there are some really wonderful restaurants in Shelburne.)
