There is nothing really negative I can say about this Inn. Peter and Carole are the Inn Keepers and they were very friendly and treated us like we were guests in their home. This place is very nostalgic, being a family oriented person it reminded me of when I was younger visiting the grandparents on their farm. The Inn is... more

My boyfriend and I just returned from a weekend at the Grist Mill House. We were looking for a nice weekend getaway at an affordable price and this bed and breakfast was the way to go. Compared to the other inns around town, this one was the cheapest. We paid $185.30 for both of us for Fri. and Sat. night.... more

On a whim, my fiance and I decided to take off to Vermont for the weekend. We were looking for a place to get away from it all. I found the Grist Mill House on-line and was astonished with the reasonable price and friendly feel I got from the web-site. When we arrived at the house, my first thought was... more

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at the Grist Mill House. We had a wonderful stay! Our host Peter was very friendly and helped us find out way around the area. The breakfasts he cooked were some of the best we ever had! The house is beautiful and the beds are very comfy. We had a relaxing stay.... more

We were traveling on a road trip to Vermont in the peak fall season, and frantically looking for a B&B's or inn to stay. A search on the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce led us to the Grist Mill House, where, fortunately, the best room (The Kedron Room) was available for our preferred dates. To top it, they had the most... more

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Kedron Room for one night---we wished we had planned to stay for two! The house was even more amazing than we expected. It is an old grist mill with beautiful hardwood floors and lots of character. Each room bed has a handmade quilt and is nicely, but simply, appointed. Our host, Peter, was... more

We were looking for a weekend away "from it all" and definitely came to the right place! One word to describe the Grist Mill House is "warmth". From the decor of each room - with wood floors, baskets, quilts to the warmth of the wood stove you immediately feel at home. Most importantly is the warmth you receive from Peter... more

Was looking forward to staying at what looked like a nice place. As we were running a bit behind schedule on our drive up, I phoned the innkeeper to update him on our arrival time. He chose that moment to inform me that the room I had booked via e-mail had been rented out to someone else! And what was... more

After being turned away by the Maple Leaf Inn (see review of the Maple Leaf Inn located in Barnard, VT), I called the Grist Mill House in South Woodstock, VT. Peter, the innkeeper, cheerfully answered the phone, said he would make the room with two single beds into a king for us and otherwise prepared our room for our arrival... more

We discovered this B&B by pure accident. It is on the national charter of heritage places. Its website is ------------- Peter and Carole are the wonderful innkeepers. Kodi is their ulta friendly black lab. They do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. Peter even makes your breakfast for you everyday and just in time too, so you dont... more
