Don't get us wrong - we had a comfortable couple of nights here, but it's a place that could do with a bit of a refurb. It looked more motel, not ski lodge. Not that we were here for the skiiing (it was September after all) but it all looked a bit tired to be honest. The room was huge... more

The Riverside Inn was a great find. We travelled to Stowe for a skiing holiday from the UK and were looking for comefortable accommodation that wouldn't break the budget. Julian and Kay made us feel extremely welcome and their advice and knowledge of the local area helped to make our stay thoroughly worthwhile. Although simple, it's their hospitality that make... more

We Stayed in the beginning of May, we paid for the cheapest room but were give a lrager more private one. Clean and friendly - i would recommened unless you're looking to stay somewhere really really posh. Plus it was great to see some english people (the owners) that actually recognise our accents as english and not australian or swiss... more

Really friendly ownwers (+ dog) in a simple Stowe inn. Wanted to go to the Shed Brewery which is 2 doors down and there is also a popular Pizza resturant next door. Had a room in the main inn itself that had been renovated which was nice, was with shared bathroom which hadn't been renovated so that was a bit... more

I recently returned from a six week stay at Riverside Inn. I found the owners to be very friendly, helpful and concerned with one's welfare from the time I telephoned until leaving. There are six motel rooms of which I had one. These are spacious, comfortable and perfectly alright for the average traveller. The air conditionning worked well. All minor... more

Julian and Kay, the innkeepers, were very kind and accomodating. They promptly helped me with concerns and questions...I simply had to ask and they listened and were eager to help. I appreciated their time discussing places to eat and where not to eat...take their suggestions. My room was modest, cozy, clean, and relatively inexpensive. I will return. Sincerely, Daryl R.... more

We were very happy to find a very inexpensive room in Stowe at short notice during ski season. Our family seeks out and revels in the characther of 'run-down' country inns, but we found this hotel to be 'over-the-top' in terms of the state of disrepair and lack of basic maintenance. The hosts were very pleasant and responded promptly to... more

My husband's company relocated him to the area and we booked our stay at the Inn for approximately 2 months. It was wonderful. The room was large and I loved the Stowe location. Our dog especially loved the nearby recreation trail. Kay and Julian, the Innkeepers, are truly wonderful people and are very accommodating. When I started work and we... more

I stayed at the Riverside Inn, the whole month in June. Even before arrival the owner Kay was very helpful and kind. She and her husband Julian, continued to do everything they possibly could, to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I felt so much at home. Rooms are simple and clean, very close to the river. Great value... more
