If roustic is what you're looking for, this is the place to be. First, lets get rid of the simple things...NO- TV, RADIO, ALARM CLOCKS, CELL SIGNAL. Remember I said 'Roustic'. However, they do have free WiFi. Second, food is AWESOME (applesauce pancakes were my favorite). Great scenery... the owners were great and very knowledgable about the area. This B&B... more

We enjoyed our stay at the haus. The beds were pretty comfortable and the breakfast was tasty albeit clearly "budget" food (pancakes with fresh berries and Folgers-type coffee). Rooms were clean, service was friendly and there were many places where it was obvious that the hosts thought carefully about their guests. Floors were creaky which added to the charm, but... more

My Children and I ( ages 20 to 27 ) stayed at this bed and breakfast. We had never stayed in one before. It was so much nicer than a hotel chain. It was nice to have a home made breakfast ( that was great by the way ) instead of a bagel or donut like you usally get at... more

They accept pets in the cabins (not in the lodge), which are a bit of a hike up the trail. The cabin was nice and we especially enjoyed the wood stove. It was so peaceful because we were back in the woods, too cool to sit on the porch but took a nice hike on the property - absolutely beautiful... more

I note there is a huge variety of reviews here, some very negative. I suspect it's about what you are looking for. Yes, it is rustic, and perhaps more basic than some, and not cheap. However the setting and owners are delightful. We enjoyed our stay, albeit brief, and thoroughly enjoyed the covered bridges/waterfall tour the owner suggested. We enjoyed... more

First, I do want to say that there are many lovely aspects of this inn -- it could definitely be a quiet and relaxing place to get away from it all and watching the falling snow outside during breakfast was a beautiful and serene experience. Our room was good sized so can't complain there. We did truly, generally enjoy our... more

Stayed 2 nights at the B&B. A great place to stay. Very cousey and comfortable. I love the mornings with the great homemade breakfast. People there make you feel at home. The only thing that bothered me was the stairs. We stayed at the top floor with our one year old baby. The stairs are a bit steep, but if... more

We have stayed in Grunberg Haus for two nights in September and chose to stay there because it was a suggestion in our travel guide. The Grunberg Haus is a nice, remote austrian-style bed and breakfast. However, the rooms are quite unpretentious and dark (the B&B is in the middle of the forest and half of the rooms face a... more

I visited Grunberg Haus with my mom, dad, sister, and my best friend and her mother. We were spending the weekend in Vermont and needed a place to stay for a night. We pulled up to the B&B and had good expectations, however, after staying there I would have happily stayed in a generic chain hotel, and I assume the... more

A very comfortable b and b in the scenic location in the mountains. The service was hospitable, knowledgable and worked hard to make our civil union very special. It was the most perfect event in our lives. It is a great place to have our family and friends stay with us and enjoy our special day. They helped us coordinate... more
