I stayed here Thursday night just as a place to crash on my way to Richmond. The room was in terrible shape and the mattress was completely worn out. There were multiple fixtures barely attached to the walls, the towels were ratty and the furniture appeared worn out.

Stayed here last night. Nice place to stay. Pet friendly but no grass around for pets to go out. Rooms were very nice and clean. Staff friendly. Min towels in room. Temp of room ok. Breakfast waffles bagels OJ

The location of the Cavalier Inn could not be matched if visiting the University of Virginia. It is literally adjacent to the campus. The rooms are pleasant and clean, and the desk personnel are professional and very friendly and very accommodating. The hotel rates are very moderate and that means that services and amenities are very limited. The complimentary breakfast... More

The hotel common areas incl breakfast area are fine. However once you get to your room not so great. Very thin and few towels, HVAC works very poorly ( all rooms are on same system, minimal room controls). Room at back very noisy as no soundproof glass as on front.

The Cavalier Inn is extremely well-situated at the corner of Ivy and Emmett, close to the main grounds, North Grounds, the Corner and the Athletic facilities of the University of Virginia, as well as the many stores and restaurants on Route 29. It is also inexpensive - I was able to secure a room for busy Reunion weekend for just... More

The rates at this hotel are usually very low. I have booked for as low as $79 a night when others like the Hampton Inn and Courtyard by UVA were in the mid to high $100's. While those are nicer places, at $100 cheaper, I would rather stay here. The rooms vary a bit so my stays have varied in... More

We rented two rooms on April 25th and 26th. The location was ideal for my older in-laws for which walking is difficult. The pricing is also very competitive. However, every other aspect of the hotel was disappointing. When we returned to our rooms on the 26th after a day of sight seeing we found our rooms had not been cleaned.... More

We stayed there April 13-15 for Days on the Lawn at UVa and after reading the previous reviews here, I was reluctant to keep the reservation. I figured that we could bail out after a day since most people showed up Sunday night for the Monday version of DOTL. The hotel wasn't as bad as advertised, but then again, I... More

This hotel is old. It has not been renovated and has some interesting makeshift additions. The rug had some sticky spots that my socks stuck to. The bathroom was old and shower didn't work too well. The bed was okay, at least I didn't get bit. The internet was slow, at night when everyone was using it it was really... More

Hello It is always disappointing to us to see when a guest is unhappy, the safety glass enclosed side with floor to ceiling panels allows for a great view of the grounds, it does protect from the noise of the street traffic below, I am sorry that you felt breakfast did not offer more variety each day, we put out... We were very surprised because the room looked nothing like the pictures on it's web page. It was similar to the econo lodge across the street. While it was clean, it had a stale mildew odor. The positives is that the front desk staff were very nice and professional. The location is excellent being so close to campus, however the... More
