Completely enjoyed our stay! We arrived about the 3rd week of October, which was just about peak for fall colors. We stayed in Room 1 which was a bit larger and had a beautiful private porch overlooking a wooded hillside. The room was very clean and modern. The fresh eggs, bread, juice, and coffee were a great start to each... More

We had an excellent stay this fall. There is so much room in the newly remodeled basement including a kitchen. The fresh eggs and bread were a good start to the day. Throughly enjoyed. More

We spent three nights at Rooster Hill and were very pleased. It's incredibly quiet, in the country. You really can feed the chickens and gather eggs for breakfast. Don't be fooled, it's not an old farmhouse. It's a modern, clean home with two guest rooms in the lower level. Very nice and private. The only downside is if you like... More

Larry and his wife, Dina (sp?), were great. Their recommendations for restaraunts and things to do were spot on. The home is located about 15 minutes outside of Charlottesville, but an easy drive. Our room was very large, we had our own kitchenette and outside seating area. They do not serve breakfast in the morning, however you are provided with... More

We had a great room, and Larry was a warm host. We took him up on a recommendation and checked out a local Brewery w/ a great view. We'd highly recommend this place. Also be sure to check out the historic home next door, great, informal tours given by the owner there. He's also named Larry. More

We booked Rooster Hill online for graduation weekend at UVA, and Rooster Hill provided an ideal setting for a family gathering. The two adjoining suites were especially convenient, and the property is located in a lovely hill country setting, within a ten-minute drive of campus. We appreciated the attention to detail - country antiques, a pleasant garden, and of course... More

We truly enjoyed our stay at Rooster Hill. It was about 15 mins from Charlottesville, located in a country setting, close enough to everything, yet far enough away. Fresh bread and jam upon arrival and fresh eggs every morning; fresh juice and milk in the fridge. If we were to encourage they add anything at all, it would be add... More

Recently returned from a long weekend in Charlottesville and had a great stay at Rooster Hill. It's in an ideal location - located between the entrance to Skyline Drive and downtown Charlottesville - making for an easy drive to local vineyards as well as Monticello. The room was tidy and the bed comfy. We loved having fresh eggs from our... More

What an awesome place to stay! Found it by going on TripAdvisor trying to find a decent place to stay in the Charlottesville area for the weekend. Our room was very nice and clean, the bed comfortable, and the owners had put a lot of detail into the furnishings. It was nice to be close to everything and yet come... More
