I have stayed more than once at the EconoLodge and have to say that the total lack of amenities and the condition of the rooms are appalling. The first time I stayed there I was too tired to do more than sleep and leave the next AM, had been driving all day. I decided to give it another try, thinking I may have just been unlucky the first time. The rooms are very small and shabby and they obviously have not heard of air freshener. The bathrooms are VERY small, with barely enough room for tub, toilet, and sink. You could shower and brush your teeth at the same time! The tiles were chipped and broken. The staff at the front desk were marginally helpful but friendly enough. There are far better choices in Fairfax for the same money that offer far more and are much cleaner. I have noticed that on all the web sites featuring hotels the EconoLodge offers very little information about their hotel. I know why!
