It's a nice hotel with very pretty grounds. However, when we booked we were assured the hot tub would be open (even if the pool was closed). Suited my needs. comfy bed, a nice bar/restaurant in one of the buildings, were myself and my colleagues were able to wind down after our meetings, have some drinks, and play some pool. This is a first class hotel. The rooms were well-appointed and clean, the pool area was very nice, the grounds are lovely. My room was cool and well appointed. The AC system worked well in main space during meeting was very hot in Richmond that week. Sales staff was able to anticipate our every need. Exterior and interior of building could not have been better. We were very satisfied and will come back next year for our meeting. more

The company who contracted this facility for our conference should have moved the meetings to another facility due to the AC issue in the Jefferson Hall meeting rooms. Those meeting rooms (at least 5), hallways, restrooms, and business center were SO unbearably HOT that some committee members had to meet in the BAR!!! I have to stay at this hotel due to business connections -- our client insists upon holding meetings there. It is truly an awful experience. The AC is usually broken in the main building where meetings are held. The guest rooms have functioning AC. The food is disgusting, and the kitchen had several health code violations while we were confined... more
