This inn is right on the Main St. of a tiny mountain town in Highland County in the Shenandoah Moutains of Virginia. First of all, let me say that I am dying to go back.

We visited in December 2004 on a Saturday night for a short weekend get-away (we live about 3 hours away in Richmond, VA) and I really wish it could have been longer. The inn was all decorated for Christmas. The parlor was warm and inviting--my husband and I were the only ones in the inn that night so we had it to ourselves. The parlor had lovely Victorian furnishings and books and tons of board games for every age and level. There's also an upright piano for those who are so inclined to play. We spent hours in front of the fireplace talking, sipping cocoa and hot tea and playing a mean game of Scrabble. Afterwards, we went down the street to a lovely restaurant (so sorry forgot the name) and had a most delicious dinner, then spent a little time walking around the town. It even started to snow... more
