To start a vaction with two dogs you can already consider yourself at a disadvantage. Right off the bat we were given a; come one come all, bring the dogs, and let us be your place to see while you discover all that Mt.Jackson and surrounding communities have to offer, kind of welcome....And that was just on the phone. We... more

We have stayed at The Widow Kip's Country Inn in Mt. Jackson, VA for the past 7 years. It is situated in the beautiful and quaint Shenandoah Valley village of Mt. Jackson. The accomodations are excellent and the hosts, Bob and Betty Luse are the most accomodating, friendly and flexible hosts my wife and I have dealt with. The rooms... more

My husband and I decided last minute to go up to Bryce Resort for fireworks on July 3rd and although we live only a couple hours away we decided to stay at the inn last minute. We wondered why it was the only place with rooms still available last minue, and we quickly found out once we arrived. Our room... more

The couple that wrote this review were very unfair. First of all, they were late coming in for breakfast. We have two seatings 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Most of the guests at the table were almost finished with their breakfasts, when they arrived at the table. We had to reset for the 9:30 a.m. seating, they had asked for...

We have been going to Widow Kips for the past 7 years. We always bring our dog and she just LOVES the 5 acre field. We have been there in all 4 seasons and each is a lovely time to visit. There are wineries and hiking near by. And the duckpin bowling in town is a hoot! The pool is... more

My husband and I have stayed in in many B&B's in both the US and Europe and we both agree that this is our new favorite. We had our dog with us, and we were all treated like royalty. Our cottage was very sweet and comfortable. The food and service was equal to any 5 star hotel we have stayed... more

My wife and I decided to pick up and go at the very last minute for a weekend trip and we were happy to find a "pet-friendly" place to crash with rooms available. Because of the spontaneousness, we weren't expecting the world. The Widow Kip's was nice, comfortable and pleasant. The inn keepers are very nice and friendly, and incredibly... more

I want to respond to the review about the highway noise. This is our second time at the Widow Kip's. Both times we stayed at one of the pet friendly cottages. The first time, yes, there was highway noise. Since then, I believe that they have replaced the windows because on our second visit you could barely hear the highway... more

My wife and I and our dog have stayed at the Widow Kip's several times over the last few years. We have always been happy with those visits (or we wouldn't come back, obviously). We have never stayed in the rooms in the main house, but in the outside cottages. They are always cozy and clean. We've always been comfortable... more

My wife and I had a great time staying here. We stayed in a pet friendly cottage, and it was very pleasant. My dog loved his stay as well. The breakfast was incredible, and perfect before getting back on the road. I really enjoyed my stay here, and will stay here again when I pass though. more

If you are looking for a "Country Inn", this is not where you want to go. Widow Kip's is right next to Interstate 81, so the trucks rumble by all night. We were in one of the kid/pet friendly cottage rooms, complete with industrial carpeting and hand me down furniture. The room had a space heater and NO other form... more
