Rishikesh has many ashrams and hotels. For those who are open to experiencing the timeless nature of Rishikesh then Parmarth Niketan is a great option. This place is not at all for those who want service and pampering. Most of the people prefer the river view rooms but my favourite rooms are the new rooms of Yamuna block which look...

This place is not a hotel in conservative sense. It stands for a real experience of the Rishikesh life. If we go there with the mindset of being served and pampered then we need to look for another place. Only those of us who come with an open mind to experience the essence of Rishikesh will feel comfortable here. It...

Reading previous reviews, no need for me to clarify the ashram/hotel difference. Outside the gates it's bustling and is part if a vibrant, local, vocal community of humanity and animals. Inside more chilled, nice gardens, food was ok, yoga classes terrific, aarti awesome. People are friendly, but you really have to go searching for information on where things are and...

I agree with the other comments- this is not a hotel but a wonderful ashram and those expecting a hotel should not expect the formalities or services of a hotel. This ashram is iconic and sits on the Ganges- the river or all rivers. Stay here for an experience if you wish to do yoga or meditate or as a...

First of all this is not hotel so ideally it should not feature in these hotel reviews. It is actually the best place to stay in the spiritual capital of India and experience for what Rishikesh is known for i.e. yoga and the holy Ganga river.I stayed here in June 2011 and had great experience and will always be there in...

I stay here for one day in October 2011. It is quite a big place with some security personnel around. This is the place to stay if you are watching the aarti in the evening because after that you can attend a dharma talk and go straight for your dinner. For 500 rupees you can get a room with 3...
