We moved here for a 5-night stay after previously booking another hotel. Best of all was the better prices we got when asking in person versus trying to book online. We were shown choice of 5 rooms varying from 1-2 doubles to 1 king all for $65 USD per night including tax, with a 10% discount for more than 3... more
This hotel is in a great location fronting the main square. We booked a room with a balcony overlooking the main square but actually there wasn't much going on to watch. However, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel has an indoor pool and a restaurant with a terrace outside. We found the continental breakfast included was OK,... more
This nice old hotel on the sqaure in Granada is worth a look in. The staff are quite fluent in English and it has a nice view over the square to the Church. The building has a nice feel to it. The only problem is that the paint in the rooms are getting a bit old and the rooms have... more
We spent 4 nights in Granada at the Hotel Alhambra. This is an upscale hotel on the West side of the Central Park in downtown Granada. We considered TripAdvisor reviews when selecting this hotel. We had already been travelling for a month and needed to stay someplace nice for a few days. The lobby area at the Hotel Alhambra is... more
The Alhambra was surprisingly stylish compared to other hotels I have stayed in in Nicaragua. It's architecture is Spanish colonial and the interior decor has been thoughfully designed to compliment the building. Our room was spacious and the king-sized bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was completely tiled and we had no problems with the plumbing. The bed and bath... more
Granada, Hotel Alhambra January 2007 I have been to Granada three times and have stayed at the Hotel Alhambra every time. It is not the fanciest hotel, but has a great location, you can walk everywhere from it. It has the best porch in front of it for sitting and having dinner or drinks. It overlooks the city park which... more
The hotel is beautiful with an interior courtyard which has a swimming pool in the rear left section. The rooms are comfortable, but ours facing the city's main plaza or park was a bit noisy. At the same time, the view into the park was quite interesting. Although the electricity was interrupted by the country's scheduled blackouts, the hotel's generator... more
We too opted for the cheap room but realized that for a 5 night stay, we didn't want it. Our room's window opened to the lobby. When we talked to Alan, the desk man, he upgraded us to a huge room upstairs for the same price! The hotel is in a perfect location, Alan is a big help and very... more
Hotel Alhambra was quaint, nicely decorated and certainly the oldest building in Granada. Our room consisted of 4 single beds for our family. Very clean room considering how old. You had a t.v. with many channels-only one English. A good sized bathroom-only the shower head-you had to run around to get wet! The air conditioning worked, however, it was 200... more
